Archaeological Prospection Surveys

Your partner in non-invasive archaeological and cultural heritage surveys

Our Services

About Us

GeoSphere Austria, NIKU (Norwegian Institute for Cultural Heritage Research), and the Vienna Institute for Archaeological Science (VIAS) have formed a strategic partnership to offer high-resolution geophysical archaeological prospection surveys for archaeological research and cultural heritage preservation. Our collective expertise in near-surface geophysics enables us to provide innovative cutting-edge non-invasive solutions tailored to the unique challenges of archaeological sites across Europe.

Our Competence and Services

Ground-Penetrating Radar (GPR) Surveys

We use latest ultra-high-resolution GPR technology to explore subsurface features with greatest precision, efficiently mapping buried structures, and archaeological sites in unprecedented imaging resolution.

Magnetometry

Our large-scale high-resolution motorised magnetometry surveys detect magnetic anomalies beneath the surface, revealing past human activities and hidden structures.

Data Procesing and Visualisation

We provide state-of-the-art data processing, visualisation and comprehensive geospatial mapping in Geographical Information Systems for a clearer understanding of the subsurface.

Integrated Data Analysis

We integrate and interpret multiple geophysical datasets and apply advanced analysis techniques to deliver actionable insights for archaeological research and subsurface imaging applications.
